Nashville Shores is one of the most popular destinations for summer family fun in Middle Tennessee. My kids love the water slides and the wave pool but I’m happiest when floating around the lazy river. (Note to moms and dads of littles – I know you can’t even imagine what it’s like to float around at a water park while your kids enjoy themselves in other parts of the park. But trust me, that day is coming…and it is glorious!) Depending on the age of my kids and the amount of camps, vacations, etc that we had scheduled, we have never missed at least one summer trip to Nashville Shores.  Some years we had season passes and others we planned a day there to coincide with a special event, maybe the fireworks show or a dive in movie.

There is lots to do at Nashville Shores. The water park features :

  • 8 water slides
  • Castaway Creek Lazy River
  • Breaker Bay Wave Pool
  • Kowabunga Beach – an interactive playground for younger kids
  • “Giant Bucket of Fun”
  • 3 pools (Suntan Lagoon, Wacky Pond, Lily Pad Pool)
  • Beach
  • Barefootin’ Bay – New for 2017!  Chldren’s Water Treehouse and Sprayground

Experience all this fun and more this July at Kids Fest!

Kid’s Fest is a free festival that features all things kids. It is included with waterpark admission. Children will get to enjoy all-day waterpark fun plus numerous special activities all week. Some of the planned activities include bounce houses, arts and crafts, games, face painters, a mobile video game truck, live entertainment, and more. There will also be special presentations from Mr. Rich Super Science Guy, Sean the Balloon Guy, and visits from your favorite princesses.

Along with the inaugural Kid’s Fest, this year Nashville Shores has also transformed its kid’s area in the waterpark, with the introduction of Barefootin’ Bay. The new Barefootin’ Bay features a remodel of the children’s pool area in addition to a new, colorful water play structure with more than 35 interactive water features, mini-slides, and a tipping bucket to drench guests below.

“We hope Middle Tennessee parents and their children will come out to enjoy this exciting, new attraction and great event,” said Daniel Strobel, Director of Marketing. “Kid’s Fest and the new Barefootin’ Bay provides even more opportunities for family fun at the park, especially our younger guests.”
