Log Files:

As with most other websites, we collect and use the data contained in log files.  The information in the log files includes your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service provider, such as Comcast or Time Warner Cable), the browser you used to visit our site (such as Internet Explorer or Chrome), the time you visited our site and which pages you visited throughout our site.

We do use cookies to store information, such as your personal preferences when you visit our site.  This could include only showing you a popup once in your visit, or the ability to login to some of our features, such as forums.

We also use third party advertisements on to support our site.  Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on our site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through the Google AdSense program) information including your IP address, your ISP , the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed.  This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (i.e. showing Nashville real estate ads to someone in the Nashville metropolitan area) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (i.e. showing tourism ads to someone who frequents tourist sites).

Specifically, this site makes use of AdSense which leverages the DoubleClick DART cookie.

The DoubleClick DART cookie:

The DoubleClick DART cookie is used by Google in the ads served on the websites of its partners, such as websites displaying AdSense ads or participating in Google certified ad networks. When users visit a partner’s website and either view or click on an ad, a cookie may be dropped on that end user’s browser. The data gathered from these cookies will be used to help better serve and manage ads on the publisher’s site(s) and across the web.

Contests and Giveaways:

Nashville Fun for Families regularly does giveaways and contests. When you share your email address to enter a contest, you will be added to our email distribution list. This list is used to send out a newsletter up to 2 times per month. When you receive the first newsletter, there is an option to unsubscribe if you find the content not useful. Your email address is not shared with any outside entity and if you do unsubscribe, you will not be added back to the distribution list.
