Pollinator Week @ Nashville Zoo

Join us in celebrating Pollinator Week on Saturday, June 24! From 10:00 am – 2:00 pm enjoy hands-on activities and talks to learn more about pollinators and their conservation. You’ll find these activities at the following stations around the Zoo:

Generate Some Buzz with TEC on the barn path at Grassmere Historic Farm
Our partners from Tennessee Environmental Council will be joining us with activities for guests of all ages.
  • Wire bee craft
  • Build a bee house
  • Microscope exploration
  • Host-plant and pollinator puzzles
Hummingbirds at the Croft House back porch
Join Nashville Zoo’s Hummingbird team to learn how to attract these beautiful bird pollinators to your garden.
  • Native plants to add to your garden 
  • How to safely utilize hummingbird feeders
Bees at the apiary and in the observation hive room in the barn 
Join our team of Nashville Zoo Beekeepers to learn more about our hives, how much we depend on pollinators to put food on our table, and what you can do to support native bees.

Monarchs, Milkweed, and Migration at the Children’s Garden
Join Nashville Zoo’s Monarch team to learn about monarch butterflies, their yearly migration, and how you can support their survival and help conservation scientists study them!

  • Find out more about monarch migration and how you can help scientists track it
