On July 15th we are hosting a community fundraiser, The Dickson Pillow Fights, that will not only capture the hearts of residents but mobilize allies in the fight against human trafficking.

Imagine two people facing each other, straddling a pole suspended over a mud pit on a hot summer day. Spectators surround them, chanting their names, as they prepare to fight until their opponent falls into the mud. The weapon of choice: Pillows. Soggy, mud-drenched pillows.

This event will not only be Tennessee’s first ever pillow fight, but it has been endorsed by the National Pillow Fight League (yes, that’s a thing!).

The Dickson Pillow Fights is more than pillows and mud! It is a full day, family-friendly, inclusive event to knock out human trafficking! Our aim is to highlight community members, businesses and organizations standing up against this heinous crime. Our fighters are local nonprofits, businesses, community clubs and community members! It will be SO fun and the first event of its kind in Tennessee!

The event will include seven food trucks, vendors (including youth entrepreneurs), a magic show, a hands-on science show, an air conditioned toddler area with train tables, art tables, hot wheels tracks and more! Additionally the event will have a quiet room for kids with autism or sensory disorders that need a break from the sensory input of the event.

But that’s not all!! There is an after hours that includes a supervised indoor PJ Pizza Party and showing of Toy Story for kids, while parents can enjoy food trucks and charcuterie outside under the stars with music and cocktails!
