There are many ways to celebrate Veteran’s Day to thank those who have served and remember those we have lost. Attend one of the many area events and if you are a veteran, please take advantage of one of the many deals and discounts as a special thank you for your service.

Local Parades

This year, Veteran’s Day falls on a Saturday. There are several celebrations and commemorations happening the weekend before and the weekend of November 11th.

Hendersonville Veterans Day Parade (Map) November 5, 2017 starts at 2 PM

Come out and celebrate Veterans from all conflicts with a parade in Hendersonville. The parade will travel along Main Street from the park to Executive Park Drive.

Nashville Veteran’s Day Parade, November 11, 2017, Begins at 11 AM

Starting at 14th Avenue, the parade will process down Broadway to 3rd Avenue. Be sure to get there early to get a great seat!

City of Nolensville Parade and Breakfast, November 11, 2017

Parade begins at 11 AM, The parade route begins on Oldham Drive, right on Dortch, right on Stonebrook, left onto Nolensville Road and through the Historic District ending on Ballpark Road.

Deals and Discounts for Veterans

Many area businesses, stores and restaurants are offering deals and discounts to Veterans to say thank you! If you have served, please be sure to take advantage of a discount or free meal this weekend! These are national deals, so be sure to call ahead to make sure your local restaurant or retailer is offering the discount.

Restaurant and Meal Deals

  • Applebee’s – Veterans and active duty military receive a free meal from a limited menu on November 11.
  • Back Yard Burgers – Active duty and Veterans can get a free Back Yard Classic Burger
  • BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse – all service members that present a military ID or proof of service can enjoy a complimentary entry up to $12.95 on November 10 and 11.
  • Buffalo Wild Wings – Veterans and active duty service members get a free small order of wings and a small order of fries on November 11
  • Chuck E. Cheese – Active and retired military can get a free individual one topping pizza on November 11
  • Cici’s Pizza – Present your Military ID and get a free buffet on November 11.
  • Cracker Barrel – Veterans get a complimentary slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake on November 11
  • Famous Dave’s –  Get a free two meat combo on November 11 if you are active or former military
  • Golden Corral – Military retirees, veterans, active duty, National Guard and Reservists can all receive a free dinner on November 13 from 5 PM to 9 PM
  • Little Caesars – Get a free $5 lunch deal between 11 AM and 2 PM on November 11 if you are a Veteran or active duty.
  • Mission BBQ – Veterans and active duty military get a free sandwich and slice of cake on November 11
  • Shoney’s – Active duty military and veterans can get a free breakfast buffet on November 11 from 6 AM to 11 AM
  • Texas Roadhouse – All active duty, retired or former military can get a free lunch from 11 AM to 2 PM on November 11.

Free and Discounted Admission Deals

Free Admission to Lane Motor Museum (Map) November 9 – 13, 2017

Military Appreciation Week – In honor of the Veteran’s Day Holiday, all active & retired members of the US Military who visit between Nov. 9 – 13, 2017 may show their military ID to receive free admission to the museum.

Free Admission to the Frist Center (Map) November 11, 2017

Free admission will be extended today to veterans; active-duty, retired, Reserve, and National Guard service members; and their families. Visitors need only identify themselves to any member of the Visitor Services staff as veterans or service members for free admission. Visitors will also have the opportunity to watch the Nashville Veterans Day Parade from the Frist Center’s Broadway terrace.

Free Admission to the Sam Davis Home (Map) November 11, 2017

Military Members can visit the Sam Davis Home in Smyrna for free on November 11th from 10 AM to 4 PM

Field of Honor at The Hermitage, November 8 – 12, 2017

The second annual Field of Honor® will be held on Veterans Day Weekend (Nov. 8 -12).  It will feature 1,000 3’x5’ American flags.  All proceeds will go to child abuse prevention efforts and other Exchange Club projects benefiting our community and country.

The flags will be displayed on the “Victory Field” facing Lebanon Road at Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage.  The entrance is just off Old Hickory Blvd. in Hermitage at 4580 Rachel’s Lane.

The Field of Honor® is free of charge and open to the public.

All weekend, active and retired military receive 1/2 off general admission to The Hermitage for up to 4 family members with the purchase of a Field of Honor flag.

Saturday, Nov 11, all active and retired military receive free admission.

Red, White and Blue with the Nashville Symphony, (Map) November 11, 2017 at 11 AM

Celebrate Veterans Day with a fun-filled mix of songs, classics and a sing-along honoring our military and our country, from sea to shining sea. Starting at 10 am, show up early for fun, family-friendly pre-concert activities, including our Instrument Petting Zoo, crafts, a book nook, and much more.Tickets are $17 – 24.

Military Appreciation Day @ Nashville Zoo (Map)  Sunday, November 12, 2017, 9 AM to 4 PM

Nashville Zoo and Regions Bank invite active military personnel, military veterans and their immediate families to receive free admission during Military Appreciation Day on Sunday, November 12.

Military Appreciation Day is offered in gratitude for the commitment, bravery and sacrifices made by those who serve our country. In addition to regular Zoo activities, a special children’s fun zone will be set up on Festival Field with bounce houses, games and activities.

The Grassmere Historic Home will be open to visitors on this day. A collection of military items will be on display downstairs and on the back porch of the house.

Visitors must show their military ID, veteran organization ID, discharge papers or other official military identification to be given free admission. Dependents must be accompanied by an active duty military personnel or veteran to receive the discounted admission. Please note: The normal $5 parking fee per vehicle will still apply.

Topgolf 

  • This Veteran’s Day, and all-year-round, Topgolf offers the “Heroes Discount” for military (veterans and active duty), police, fire and EMS personnel with valid I.D. This includes 20% off monthly memberships and 10% off game play.
