Find Lost Treasures at Unclaimed Baggage in Alabama

Many years ago I saw a segment on the Today show about a store in Alabama that sold items from lost luggage. After the airlines do all they can do to identify a lost suitcase the entire bag is sold to Unclaimed Baggage. Here is the segment that piqued my interest:

I finally got a chance to check it out myself and it was worth the trip! Located in the small town of Scottsboro, AL about 45 minutes west of Huntsville and 2 hours south of Nashville, you could make an entire day out of this one store.

The main building has adult clothing, electronics, suitcases, jewelry and books.

The outlet has children’s clothing, toys, and household items.

To give you an idea of the bargains this is what I found: Bose headphones $40 (retail $180), Nintendo 3DS XL $125 (retail $199), Peppa Pig family figurines – new in box $3 (retail $19.50 on Amazon), hardback recent books $2, DVDs $2, and more. There was a huge collection of designer handbags and LOTS of iPads the day we visited. I saw Digital SLR cameras with lens for $180. The stock changes as the store gets new bags and you never know what you will find. We saw a family purchasing a skateboard deck and a surf board.

There is a cafe onsite that serves coffee, baked goods, pizza and sandwiches so you can break for lunch and then keep shopping.
