A Very Special Christmas • Nashville Fun For Families

Christmas is such a wonderful time in Nashville – from drive through light displays, Christmas parades, pancake breakfasts to the traditional visit with Santa at the mall. However, most of these events have crowds, too many noises, lights or other barriers that prevent many families of children with special needs from celebrating the holidays with the rest of the community.

We want to change that. NashvilleFunForFamilies.com, RiverGate Mall and Modern Babies & Children Magazine are hosting the second annual “A Very Special Christmas” specifically for children who don’t normally get to visit Santa. The details were created after discussions with special needs families. They were asked “What would make a perfect event for your child to visit with Santa?” Answers ranged from requests for food accommodations and limiting waiting time, to requests for Santa to interact with children in wheel chairs. Some of the comments were heart breaking to hear: “No lines. No Santa. No Crowds. Wait….we will just stay home as usual, ha ha!”

Based on all of these suggestions, we tried to make our event fun and friendly to families that normally can’t participate.

Limited attendance – there will be 75 tickets available per hour. This includes parents and children. Please help us serve as many families as possible by making this a special morning with just you and your child by leaving siblings at home.
No bright lights and loud music.
Santa will be walking around to visit with children who would like to visit with him. Professional photographers will take pictures and you will have access to a digital copy for FREE.
Activities will be provided by several local PT/OT clinics and private schools in the area which will be appropriate for this community.
A story time will be on going.
Gluten Free cookies, juice and water will be available.
