Soundwaves, Gaylord Opryland’s new indoor water park opened on December 1, 2018. While you do have to spend the night at the hotel, it is a great new option for a family fun staycation. Check out these savings exclusively for Davidson County residents! You can also book a party room for 10 to 30 guests (prices vary) and everyone in the party gets a day pass to enjoy all the attractions.
Indoor Features
Soundwaves has something for everyone. There wading pools, places to float, a lazy river, and even an indoor pool for ages 21 and up with a bar. I could try to explain it all, but I thought it was best to just show you. Scroll through the pictures and you can see how this water park is different and worth a weekend for your family.
The center of the indoor area features a large pool.
Play some basketball, walk across the floating lily pads or just enjoy floating and relaxing.
As you can see, there are chairs available on all sides of the pool so you can read a book and watch your kids splash and play. There are life jackets in various sizes for those that are not confident swimmers.
The lazy river starts with a zero entry area and flows through out the indoor aquatics area.
You can see another side of the lazy river from the hallway in front of the party rooms (more on that later).
If your idea of going to the pool is more active, try out the Flo Rider.
Indoor Cabanas
Cabanas are available to rent daily and each one seats up to six guests. They include four bottles of water, a refrigerator, and a TV. Food and beverage service to the cabana is available for additional purchase.
Indoor Fun for the Kids
On the second floor, is an area dedicated to Soundwaves’ youngest guests. An indoor playground with a dumping bucket is located in a corner surrounded by chairs for parents.
There is even a wading area for babies and toddlers. One side has sprinklers and rocking horses.
The other has more water and frog fountains.
Indoor Fun for Adults
Gaylord Opryland thought of everything. If you want a space to take break from your kids, read a book, or sip a cocktail, Soundwaves has an area for you too. There is a special area for those ages 21 and up to enjoy a soaking pool with its own bar.
It is also handicap accessible with a lift.
If you need to watch the kids while you read, there is an area that overlooks the entire bottom floor. It is perfect for families with older kids that are confident swimmers. Moms and Dads can relax and still see all the action below.
Outdoor Features
The outdoor area has something for everyone. This oasis is surrounded by trees and with exception of one area where you can see the cars on Briley (once the trees grow in, the road will be completely camouflaged), you forget you are in the middle of Nashville.
The expansive outdoor area has a water playscape along with slides on one side. The Rising Stars Stage is a multi-level structure with multiple slides for kids of all ages. The water is shallow and there are several water sprayers and fountains to play in.
Additionally, there are four slides. The Beat Drop plunges riders into a near vertical tunnel which then turns into a looping water slide. The Bass Drop is a six-story free-fall into six-inches of water. The Rock’N Racer has four lanes allowing riders to ride on mats and race each other to the finish.
The other side of the outdoor oasis features a HUGE wave pool. The waves come every 10 -15 seconds onto a zero entry beach. There is a giant LED screen that can be viewed from the water and the shore. There are plans for summer movies and more!
If you need some quiet time outside, the Diamond Pool is for adults only and a great place to catch some sun and relax.
The Bass-Ment
In addition to all the water attractions, there is a new area called the Bass-Ment. There are several giant multiplayer video games, a climbing wall, and a 4D action ride.
