Nashville Airsoft

Cooler temps in Nashville means the inevitable struggle to find fun things to keep the kiddos busy indoors.  This might not seem like such a difficult task if you think of all of the wonderful indoor playgrounds, bounce places, trampoline parks, etc., but what do you do with kids who are too old for those places?

Any mother of pre-teen/teenagers will tell you how hard it is to find things for that age group that are fun, affordable and helps them burn some energy!  Our family recently got the opportunity to check out Nashville Airsoft and, wow!  I think we will be spending a lot of time there in the future!

Where is Nashville Airsoft?

Nashville Airsoft is a 30,000 sq. ft. warehouse located alongside the Cumberland River in the heart of downtown Nashville, near Shelby Park.  Unlike most places you go downtown, Nashville Airsoft has ample, free, easily accessible parking available for their guests.

When you first arrive you’ll go to the front desk to check-in.  Don’t have an airsoft gun of your own?  Not to worry, because NA has airsoft guns available for rent!

In fact, you can rent a complete package which includes your gun, a mask, and 2,000 plastic BBs.  If you plan to stay for several hours you’ll be glad to know that they also have a fully stocked snack bar available.  It’s a teenagers dream come true!

Nashville Airsoft also specializes in gun sales and repair.  My kids loved perusing the shop and the staff were great about answering any questions they had about the various guns and other equipment for sale.  The staff is extremely knowledgeable and strive to give their guests a great experience.

One of the aspects of NA that I loved the most was that the arena and the waiting area is separated by plexiglass which means you get to watch all of the action without having to get shot.

I didn’t necessarily want to go in and play airsoft myself, but I wanted to watch my kids play.  This was the perfect set up for people like me.  The arena contains buildings to hide in, vehicles to hide behind, giant tunnels to crawl through and more!

Cost to Play

Cost for Open Play:

  • One hour arena pass: $12
  • One hour gear rental: $14, additional
  • All day arena pass: $22
  • All day gear rental: $25, additional

Tips for Safe and Fun Airsoft Play

Some tips from an airsoft mom that I would like to pass along:

  • Encourage your child to wear proper clothing to the airsoft arena!  Plastic BBs may sound harmless, but they do have the potential to leave bruises or welts if they’re shot at close range.  Wearing long, thick pants, long sleeved shirt and a jacket is a good idea.
  • No open toed shoes are allowed, so you will want to wear something like sneakers or boots.
  • All of that running around in protective gear will make you hot, sweaty and thirsty!  Be prepared by bringing along some water bottles or plan to purchase water from the snack bar.
  • If you plan to hang out while your kids play, NA has a nice sitting area with comfy couches for you to sit and perhaps read or knit or play on your phone.
  • There is nothing to keep younger kids entertained, so I would suggest this as a strictly older kids outing.
  • Fill out the liability waiver online from their website to save time when you arrive.

Nerf Gun Fun Birthday Parties

If you’re reading all this and thinking to yourself, “Gee, I don’t think my kids would be comfortable with the idea of getting shot with plastic BBs.  They do love Nerf guns, though!”…do I have some good news for you!

Nashville Airsoft offers birthday party packages where kids can play in the arena with Nerf guns instead of airsoft guns.  Nerf parties are available on Sunday, after 6pm, anytime M-Thurs., and Friday before 3pm.

Cost is $25/guest, 10 player minimum.  With this package you get the arena all to yourself, private party room, and the lounge with access to video game stations.  You also receive Nerf guns, ammo, eye protection, and a party host.  Food can be brought in or they can supply pizza for an additional cost.

Home School Days

Last but not least, Nashville Airsoft also offers HOMESCHOOL DAYS!  Homeschool Thursdays are scheduled for the first Thursday every month.  You can play from 2pm-6pm for only $12/person if you’re bringing your own equipment, $26/person if you need to rent equipment.  What a fun outing for a homeschool co-op!

Arena open play is Fri. 3pm-9pm, Sat. 10am-9pm, Sun. 1pm-6pm.  It is encouraged for younger players or those new to airsoft to come in on Friday or Sunday, since Saturdays tend to be their busiest time of the week.

This is a great tip for new players who might be intimidated by older and more experienced players.  The retail shop is open Wed./Thurs. 12pm-7pm, Fri. 12pm-9pm, Sat. 10am-9pm and Sun. 1pm-6pm.  They also offer several different party packages!  More info about parties available on their website at www.nashvilleairsoft.com.

Our family had an absolutely fantastic time playing here, and we will be telling everyone we know to go check them out.  I would suggest “liking” them on Facebook, as they are regularly posting special events and things of that sort.

For any questions regarding open play, birthday parties, etc. you can email them at info@nashvilleairsoft.com or give them a call at (615) 837-0920.

Crystal was born and raised, and now raising a family of her own in Middle Tennessee. She currently lives in Murfreesboro with her husband Glenn, and their three children; Hunter, Grayson, and Hailey. They are an unschooling family, meaning they spend lots and lots of time out and about exploring all that this area has to offer!

    • Hi Sonia, There actually isn’t a Nerf gun area. On occasion they close the main course to airsoft and just allow Nerf guns. You’ll have to call and see if they are offering an open time for Nerf or if it is for birthday parties only.
