Ford Ice Center

Whether you are looking for a place to escape the heat, rain, or cold, Ford Ice Center is a great option for indoor family fun. The center is located in Antioch and is right across from the Southeast Branch of the Nashville Public Library.

Ford Ice Center offers lots of options for fun on the ice. They have public skate times all year long. Find the schedule at this link. Make sure you dress for the colder temperatures in the rink. It might be 90 degrees outside but the rink will be chilly so bring a jacket and wear long pants.

Open skate times usually last about 2 hours. Plan ahead to make sure you get there in time to pay admission and get your skates at the beginning of the session so you don’t miss any time on the ice.

Bathrooms are located right outside the rinks so access is easy if you need it. There is also a concession area outside the rink. Skating is a very physical activity so don’t be surprised if you have some hungry kids when the session is over.

There are tables in the concession area and benches right outside the rink. If you have older kids who can skate without you, these are great places for moms and dads to relax and watch the skating without shivering in the rink.

Located right outside the Ford Ice Center is a nice park area. Once the kids are done skating, let them run around and play a bit before heading home!

Ford Ice Center is also home to the Scott Hamilton Skating Academy. Kids can learn figure skating and hockey skills at this nationally recognized program. Sessions last for 8 weeks and are scheduled year round.

Ford Ice Center can also host birthday parties. Check here for details.

If you are a fan of hockey, then Ford Ice Center has lots of opportunities for you. They have both adult and youth hockey leagues. There are summer camps and individual hockey lessons also available.

Do you have a little one interested in hockey? If so, take advantage of the G.O.A.L! program at Ford Ice.

G.O.A.L! has been created to offer youngsters the opportunity to experience the excitement of hockey without the cost of purchasing equipment. Designed for boys and girls ages 5 to 8 years old with no prior hockey or skating experience, this free four-week ice hockey program will introduce the exciting sport of hockey to kids while teaching life experiences of teamwork, sportsmanship and self-confidence as a child develops through athletic participation.

You can get more information on this program including dates for the next session by calling (615) 770-2152.
