October Family Fun

October is the most AWESOME month in Tennessee!  It’s pumpkin time, it’s corn maze time, it’s football time, it’s fall break time (my fave!).

  • This month is ALL about the pumpkin. There are lots of great pumpkin patches in the Middle Tennessee area.  Many of them feature corn mazes, hay rides and other activities for kids. Some of the best on this list are located in rural areas that you may not even know about. Don’t be scared!  Pick one, program your GPS and prepare for a great day.
  • Cheekwood has to make it onto your fall family bucket list.  They offer lots of fall fun including the scarecrow exhibit which has become a Nashville tradition.  This is a great place to take some fall pictures of the kids.  Around every corner in Cheekwood, you will find a new photo op! Don’t forget the El Día de los Muertos festival on October 28-29.
  • Plan now for a month full of Halloween Festivals and events.
  • Middle Tennessee has some of the BEST parks and playgrounds.  Leave your neighborhood and explore!
  • We have lots of Fall Fun pins on Pinterest.
  • Looking for fun costumes for Halloween? Yep…we have some ideas!
  • Maximize your candy opportunities! Bookmark this list to Find a Trunk or Treat event near you later this month.
  • If your school system gives you a Fall Break, we have some ideas to fill the days.
  • This would be the ideal time for a trip to Nashville Zoo. The animals are so much more active in the cooler October weather.
  • There are so many fun fall events scheduled this month. Check the calendar often as we are adding new events all month long.
  • Looking for a great deal for Fall Break? Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for Free!
  • Want to save even more on some fun? Kids are always free at the Frist Center.
