Family Fun at Rose Park

Rose Park is a great place to take a ‘sporty’ kid.  Built on the historic Edgehill Civil War battleground, this park offers lots of amenities for the athletic enthusiast.  The park features full size baseball  and  soccer fields. It also has a full size track.   The park was recently expanded and improved via a partnership between the city of Nashville and Belmont University.  Belmont uses the park for games and practice.  So be aware of that before you plan a trip.  The fields are also used by local schools, church and community groups. Even if you have no interest in sports, the park offers something for you.  The view of the Nashville skyline alone is worth the trip.

There is a small playscape that has an AstroTurf type surface.  The playscape is surrounded by benches for tired moms and dads 🙂

The park also has a large swimming pool with slides.  The pool is open during the summer months and a schedule can be found here.  Rose Park is located near a large residential areas so I am guessing that the pool is going to be pretty full of kids on a hot summer day.  Keep that in mind when planning a trip.

Rose Park has a large area for basketball.  They also have a huge batting cage.

(Please excuse the quality of these pictures.  We visited right before a huge thunderstorm!)

There is also a large covered picnic area near the back of the complex.

Easley Community Center is located at the front of the complex. Their hours are listed here.
