Tomahawk Throwing for Beginners

March 9, 2019 @ 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

$5 – $10

Come join the Coalition and learn how much fun it is to throw a tomahawk. This is the third time we have offered this program and we hope you have as much fun as we did the last two time. There is little reliable historical record that shows long hunters, Cumberland settlers, or anyone else threw tomahawks for entertainment. That being said, we all know that people will go to great lengths to entertain themselves, so who knows!. Come learn how much fun it is to throw a tomahawk and hear that “thunk” sound when your hawk finds its mark.

For an added twist you will be able to participate in a beginners tomahawk tournament for an additional fee. If you win you will walk away with your own tomahawk from Redtail Forge Works!!

Every thing you need will be provided, all you have to do is show up and give it a try.

The Hawk range will be set up at the entry to the Tennessee History Trail (Enter the park and follow the main road to the boat ramp and you will see us on your left).

Cost for participation is $10 per adult (16 and up) and $5 for children (10-15yrs old). You can participate in the tournament for an additional $10. There are no advanced ticket sales.

All proceeds go to support educational programming on the Tennessee History Trail!
