Celebrate Spring with us by touring Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park! Our on-site park tour is recommended for visitors interested in learning more about the park’s unique features and Tennessee history.

The tour begins at the Visitors’ Center, on the corner of 6th Ave N. and Harrison St., underneath the train bridge. We will look at the park’s Map Plaza and River Fountains before heading into the park; the tour goes over each of our monuments and memorials, including the state World War II Memorial, as well as discussing some of the quotes along our expansive Pathway of History before continuing down the geography side of the park. The tour will conclude at the Visitors’ Center, where the tour began. 

Tours generally last around 60-75 minutes and cover approximately 1 mile around the park on paved surfaces. Appropriate footwear for a one-mile walk is recommended and water bottles or other forms of hydration are encouraged. The tour will take place entirely outside and appropriate clothing, depending on the season and temperature, is recommended. Park restrooms are located across from the park’s Visitors’ Center, additional restrooms can be found along the tour at the Nashville Farmer’s Market, State Museum, and Tennessee State Library and Archives.

Tours will occur unless severe weather conditions are predicted. Individuals who are unable to attend a tour due to cancelation, or personal reasons, are welcome to sign up for one of the park’s other recurring weekend tours. If a park tour must be canceled, you will be contacted via phone call on the number you provided during registration. 

This park tour is part of Tennessee State Park’s Signature Hike series. Join us for additional hikes on National Trails Day (June 1) and for the Day After Thanksgiving Day Hike (November 29.)
