Science club at the library is a free monthly science event for children, young teens, and parents. Each month a scientist from Vanderbilt teaches about a topic that is important to their research. In the past we have looked at insects under a microscope, made origami, designed microbes out of crafts, and played a variety of games.
In September our topic is mammalian adaptation to life in the water. Marine mammals are some of the largest animals on the planet and have had to adapt to their ocean environment. We will talk about how they live in very cold water, how they communicate, and find food! Come learn about some of these adaptations in an interactive way!
