Science club at the library is a free monthly science event for children, young teens, and parents. Each month a scientist from Vanderbilt teaches about a topic that is important to their research. In the past we have looked at insects under a microscope, made origami, designed microbes out of crafts, and played a variety of games.
In June our topic is the cells that make up our body! We will also talk about how these cells can change to produce cancer. Ph.D Candidate Jessica Abner will lead a set of activities to teach about the parts that make up a cell and what happens when those cells go cancerous.
