Visitors will meet in the visitor center conference room for an hour of instruction. Visitors will learn how to plot points, shoot an azimuth, and use a pace count to navigate without GPS. Visitors will then have an hour to navigate to four given points on the park. This is designed to be an instructional, learning experience to introduce visitors to the basics of land navigation or orienteering. Close-toed shoes are required. This workshop will involve travel off trail in the park and may take place in strenuous terrain. This program is technically challenging by nature and is recommended for visitors at least 13 or older.
