NASHVILLE ZOO’S ANNUAL AUTISM AWARENESS DAY SET FOR APRIL 28!
Nashville Zoo will hold its annual Autism Awareness Day on Sunday, April 28.
Held in partnership with Vanderbilt Kennedy Center’s Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD), Autism Awareness Day is included with Zoo admission or membership and offers family-oriented animal experiences and activities throughout the Zoo. Guests can participate in a Zoo-wide scavenger hunt or sensory tour and close encounters with animals along the Zoo’s trails.
Nashville Zoo has worked with TRIAD to develop tools and supports to enhance a Zoo visit for families with children on the autism spectrum. Prepare for a visit to Nashville Zoo with these planning materials, such as visual schedules, Zoo map with quiet areas, and social stories about Zoo experiences. All materials can be found here!
