Join us for classic 18th-century games on the lawn – hoops and sticks, sack races, tossing graces, 3-legged races and more!
Jackson famously defeated the mighty British Navy during their attack on New Orleans – how fast can you sail? Make your own sailing boat and race in our Raingutter Regatta!
Raising the Hickory Pole
Andrew “Old Hickory” Jackson inspired a lot of popular support during his election campaigns and towns across the country raised a hickory pole in the town square with broadside posters of support. Join in the tradition by making your own patriotic poster and hanging it on our hickory pole!
Designing a Flag
Flags are a symbol of a nation’s pride and what they value most. Design your own American flag using the colors and pattern that you think represents our nation best!
Reading of the Declaration of Independence at 11 a.m.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Gather on the Mansion front lawn to hear the Declaration of Independence being read from the President’s balcony.

By the People, For the People: A Community Reading of the Declaration at 2 p.m.
Join us on the back porch of the Mansion for a collaborative reading of our nation’s declaration of freedom. Guests of all ages will be invited to read passages of this document, in commemoration of those who fought and died to defend it.
