Donelson Bowl is very proud of its history – it is the oldest bowling alley in Nashville opening in December of 1959. When you and your family just want to bowl without the temptations of an arcade or other distraction this is the place!
This icon is located in the heart of Donelson across from the Larry Keeton theatre and near the Donelson Music City Star station.
We arrived with 7 kids in tow on a late summer afternoon and were immediately able to get 2 lanes. The place was clean and had all the equipment you expect – computerized scoring, bumpers for the kids as well as a ball ramp for little ones to launch their balls from. They even have toddler shoes and light weight balls behind the counter that you can ask for when you get your shoes.
After a game or two be sure to try the food. It’s what you expect from a bowling alley – fries, burgers and beer at a good price.
There is a game room, but it is small and very easy to walk past if your plan is to just bowl. There are also daily specials including $1.50 games on Mondays and Wednesdays making Donelson Bowl a great after school treat!
