Living in Music City USA has its advantages! Celebrate the holidays with the Country Music Hall of Fame (CMHOF) and their Deck the Hall concerts, activities and celebrations. There is something for everyone!

All events will be at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Here is a MAP and some suggestions for parking.

2019 Deck the Hall Events and Activities

Concerts

Christmas Tree Lighting – November 29 at 4:30 PM

  • Deck the Hall officially begins with the lighting of a 25-foot Balsam Hill Christmas tree in the museum’s Mike Curb Conservatory. The event features a special performance by gospel group The McCrary Sisters, who will sing holiday classics from their recent album, A Very McCrary Christmas.  

Crafts, Activities and MORE!

Free Photos with Santa – Santa will be waiting in the museum’s Mike Curb Conservatory every Saturday from Nov. 30 to Dec. 21, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

String City: Nashville’s Tradition of Music & Puppetry –  a free puppet show created by the Nashville Public Library’s Wishing Chair Productions, in partnership with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, returns for a two-day run, Nov. 29 and 30.

Print Your Own Hatch Show Print poster for free – Sunday, December 8th – Noon, 1 PM and 2 PM – Kids get hands-on with letterpress in this unique workshop at Hatch Show Print, one of the oldest working letterpress print shops in the United States. Participants learn about letterpress printing from Hatch Show Print staff, then create their very own letterpress art using carved wood, linoleum, and metal block images from the Hatch collection. Ages five and up and accompanying adults. Universal Music Group Hatch Show Print Space for Design. Limited seating. Free. Program pass required. Program passes are free and distributed 30 minutes prior to each session at Universal Music Group Hatch Show Print Space for Design on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition, there are a variety of hands on activities happening throughout December in the Taylor Swift Education Center, including the beginner electric guitar workshop, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” on Dec. 7; holiday paper craft fun with Hatch Show Print on Saturday, Dec. 14; creating mini-museum snow globes on Saturday, Dec. 21; decorating country ornaments on Sunday, Dec. 22; exploring the instruments of country music during a Musical Petting Zoo on Dec. 28; and making black-eyed-pea maracas on New Year’s Day.

Admission and Local Resident Discounts

Most holiday programs are included with museum admission and free to museum members. Through Community Counts, local youth from Cheatham, Davidson, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson counties receive free museum admission.
