Beaches in Nashville Where You Can Play in the Sand

If you are longing to get your toes in the sand but a trip to the gulf coast isn’t on your summer agenda, head to one of these Davidson county beaches. These natural areas are a great, low cost way to spend a fun afternoon with your family. Pack your sunscreen, chairs, sand toys and a picnic!  And remember, you can probably expect large crowds at these sites on holidays and weekends.

Cook Day Use Area (Map)

Anderson Road Day Use Area (Map)

  • Picnic Areas
  • $5 per car/per day
  • Open from May 12 – September 29, 2023
  • Open 6AM – 8PM daily

Old Hickory Beach (Map)

  • Sandy beach for lake swimming
  • Picnic Area
  • Playground
  • Boat/Fishing ramp
  • Open from May 1 – September 1, 2023
  • $5 fee per car/per day

Bryant Grove – Long Hunter State Park  (Map)

  • Sandy Beach for lake swimming
  • Free
