Go on a Christmas Scavenger Hunt at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel

Most people know that Opryland is the place to go for elegant Christmas light displays, thousands of poinsettias, miles of garlands and ribbons, all in a beautiful garden resort. You might have even caught a dinner show, a performance of Cirque Dreams Holidaze or strolled through the nearly 7,000 pounds of ice sculptures for the Grinch, ICE! exhibit.

The 2019 Scavenger Hunt has you on a search for Rudolph and his reindeer friends, but this article from the 2017 season gives you an idea of what the hunt is like (and doesn’t give away any of the current clues!).

This year, they’ve added something extra special for the little ones. The Build-A-Bear Workshop Scavenger Hunt will have you and your children touring the indoor gardens of Opryland like never before. Go on a search for some adorable teddy bears, find the clues, solve the puzzles and claim your prize at the end!

For an extra special keepsake, why not stop by the Build-A-Bear Workshop to make your very own furry winter friend? The Snowburst Bear, a cuddly, cute polar bear plush, was designed exclusively for Gaylord Hotels; and can be personalized with cozy winter clothing and accessories!

Also available inside the hotel are Santa photos, Cookies with Mrs. Claus, kids’ train rides, Gingerbread Decorating Corner and much, much more!

Scavenger hunt booklets are available for $13.99 per person and can be picked up at either the Resort Package Desk or the ICE! box office in the Gaylord Opryland hotel.

When you finish the hunt, collect your prize in the main lobby. We learned the hard way that the ICE! box office doesn’t have any of the scavenger hunt prizes available to award.

She currently lives in Murfreesboro with her husband Glenn, and their three children; Hunter, Grayson, and Hailey. They are an unschooling family, meaning they spend lots and lots of time out and about exploring all that this area has to offer!

  1. All of the lights and special events. My husband and I take our boys every year. We live in southern Illinois and it’s a wonderful trip.

  6. I love all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. I am not originally from the South, and I love the Dixie Christmas in Nashville.
